Description

Designed for warmth and ease of movement, these fingerless mittens are made from 100% Scottish cashmere and knitted in Wales by a fifth-generation, family-run factory. The fine yarn is worked in a jersey stitch, allowing for natural stretch, flexibility, and a close, comfortable fit.

The fingerless construction keeps hands insulated while allowing full dexterity. Soft rolled edges offer a clean, minimal finish that holds its shape over time.

The cashmere itself is exceptional. Responsibly gathered from mountain goats known for their hardy nature, it is combed or sheared from the fine, white, downy undercoat that runs from throat to belly. This slow process yields a small amount of fiber, which is then carefully spun to reduce pilling. It takes approximately one fleece to produce a single scarf, and three to make a sweater.

Main Fabric

Scottish Cashmere

100% Goat Wool
2/28 NM gauge

This heirloom-quality cashmere is responsibly gathered from hardy, mountain-dwelling goats. Selectively combed or sheared from the fine, white, downy undercoat that runs from throat to belly, it is a slow and skilled process that yields a very small amount of usable fiber per fleece. Quality-checked for micron, length, whiteness, and impurities, the wool is then dyed and spun at Todd & Duncan, a 150-year old mill on the banks of Loch Leven in Kinross, Scotland. The mineral softness of the Loch helps open up the fibers, giving the finished yarn a rich finish and exceptionally soft feel.
