Description
This unisex coat takes its cues from a vintage French workwear garment found in Paris, with a wide, generous body, and an easy sleeve. First developed in 2019 and refined over several years, it is cut in a beautifully flecked Donegal tweed with a silhouette worthy of its weight and character.
Woven from a blend of wool, cashmere, and alpaca, the fabric has a softness that allows the generous proportions to fall naturally around the body. Lined in American cotton and finished with interior welt pockets and Italian horn buttons, it is gracefully substantial without feeling overly formal. A piece to wear repeatedly and treasure for years.
Named for Helen, our pattern maker, who helped bring its many iterations to life.

A richly flecked Irish Donegal tweed in deep loden, woven by Magee from wool, cashmere, and alpaca. Irregular flecks of orange, lime, and lilac give the cloth its distinctive depth, while the luxurious blend of yarns softens its naturally robust character. Established in 1866, Magee is one of the few remaining family-run mills in Ireland, producing natural fiber fabrics with all processes woven and finished on-site by skilled artisans.
